How to restore — free guide

Used correctly and sparingly, AI can help us restore our rich, artistic roots. You can do this with any fresco, painting, or photograph in your own collection.

  1. Open ChatGPT (or any image-capable assistant) and upload the painting, fresco, or photograph you want to restore.
  2. Use this prompt verbatim:
    Create a restoration of this painting, image, or fresco to its original appearance, with no hallucinations and no Punjabi or Gurmukhi text.
  3. Compare the output to the original side by side. If anything has been invented or altered, reject the result and try again.
  4. Bring both the original and your restoration back here and submit them below. We will review and credit you.
