ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

1. El Gurú completo ha hecho completo; el Señor reside lleno de plenitud. He alcanzado la paz y la prosperidad, como si hubiera tomado un baño purificador. Me ofrezco como sacrificio al Dios Supremo. ||1||

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕੀਤੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥ ॥

2. He mantenido los pies de loto del Gurú en mi corazón; ningún obstáculo, ni siquiera del tamaño de una semilla de sésamo, me afecta; todas mis tareas se resuelven. ||1||Pause||

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰੀ ॥ ॥

3. Al reunirme con los santos, he perdido mis malas intenciones; los pecadores se han vuelto puros. En el estanque de Ram Das, todos los pecados son lavados. ||2||

ਖੇਮ ਕੁਸਲ ਭਇਆ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥ ॥

4. Canto continuamente las glorias de Dios; me uno a la congregación de los santos y medito en Él. He obtenido los frutos de mis deseos, al meditar en el Gurú Perfecto en mi corazón. ||3||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ॥

5. El Gurú es mi protector, mi fuente de alegría; al repetir Su nombre, vivo en la dicha suprema. El siervo Nanak medita en el Nombre Divino; Dios ha mantenido Su promesa. ||4|| 10|| 60||

ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਵਲ ਰਿਦ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ ॥

1. Los rayos del sol brillan en todas direcciones, como nubes de tormenta, atemorizando a todos. Estoy sola en mi cama, sin dormir, con mis ojos llenos de lágrimas, pues mi amado está lejos, en un país extranjero. ||1||

ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਿਲ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

2. Ahora no hay mensajero, madre mía; solo un mensajero, el amado, está realizando el milagro, y así ha llegado el momento oportuno. ||Pause||

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਏ ॥ ॥

3. ¿Cómo podría olvidar a este amado, tan querido, lleno de todas las virtudes y dador de felicidad? Recorro el templo, observando el camino, con los ojos llenos de lágrimas. ||2||

ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਸਭ ਹੋਏ ॥ ॥

4. El miedo al ego me ha invadido; escuchando las noticias, me he acercado. Pero por la falta de visión, me he alejado de la casa de mi amada. ||3||

ਰਾਮਦਾਸਿ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਨਾਤੇ ॥ ॥

5. El Señor ha sido misericordioso con todos; el Señor ha eliminado todo mi sufrimiento. Dice Nanak: he perdido el miedo al ego gracias al Gurú, y así he encontrado al Señor misericordioso. ||4||

ਸਭ ਲਾਥੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਤੇ ॥੨॥ ॥

3. ¿Cómo podría olvidar a este amado, tan querido, lleno de todas las virtudes y dador de felicidad? Recorro el templo, observando el camino, con los ojos llenos de lágrimas. ||2||

ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ ॥

So sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe;

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ ॥

joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on Him.

ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥ ॥

The fruits of your mind's desires are obtained

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੩॥ ॥

by meditating on the Perfect Guru within your heart. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਆਨੰਦਾ ॥ ॥

The Guru, the Lord of the World, is blissful;

ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥ ॥

chanting, meditating on the Lord of supreme bliss, He lives.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ॥

Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੬੦॥ ॥

God has confirmed His innate nature. ||4||10||60||

ਰਾਗੁ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਮੇਘ ਘਟਾ ਘਟ ਦਾਮਨਿ ਚਮਕਿ ਡਰਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

In the ten directions, the clouds cover the sky like a canopy; through the dark clouds, lightning flashes, and I am terrified.

ਸੇਜ ਇਕੇਲੀ ਨੀਦ ਨਹੁ ਨੈਨਹ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਰਦੇਸਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ॥

By bed is empty, and my eyes are sleepless; my Husband Lord has gone far away. ||1||

ਹੁਣਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਮਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

Now, I receive no messages from Him, O mother!

ਏਕ ਕੋਸਰੋ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਰਤ ਲਾਲੁ ਤਬ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਾਤਰੋ ਆਇਓ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

When my Beloved used to go even a mile away, He would send me four letters. ||Pause||

ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਇਹੁ ਲਾਲੁ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

How could I forget this Dear Beloved of mine? He is the Giver of peace, and all virtues.

ਮੰਦਰਿ ਚਰਿ ਕੈ ਪੰਥੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਉ ਨੈਨ ਨੀਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਆਇਓ ॥੨॥ ॥

Ascending to His Mansion, I gaze upon His path, and my eyes are filled with tears. ||2||

ਹਉ ਹਉ ਭੀਤਿ ਭਇਓ ਹੈ ਬੀਚੋ ਸੁਨਤ ਦੇਸਿ ਨਿਕਟਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

The wall of egotism and pride separates us, but I can hear Him nearby.

ਭਾਂਭੀਰੀ ਕੇ ਪਾਤ ਪਰਦੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੇਖੇ ਦੂਰਾਇਓ ॥੩॥ ॥

There is a veil between us, like the wings of a butterfly; without being able to see Him, He seems so far away. ||3||

ਭਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਗਰੋ ਦੂਖੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

The Lord and Master of all has become merciful; He has dispelled all my sufferings.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਈ ਤਉ ਦਇਆਰੁ ਬੀਠਲੋ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੪॥ ॥

Says Nanak, when the Guru tore down the wall of egotism, then, I found my Merciful Lord and Master. ||4||

ਸਭੁ ਰਹਿਓ ਅੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਮਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

All my fears have been dispelled, O mother!

ਜੋ ਚਾਹਤ ਸੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਓ ॥ ॥

Whoever I seek, the Guru leads me to find.

ਸਰਬ ਗੁਨਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਰਾਇਓ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧੧॥੬੧॥ ॥

The Lord, our King, is the treasure of all virtue. ||Second Pause||11||61||

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:

ਗਈ ਬਹੋੜੁ ਬੰਦੀ ਛੋੜੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਦੁਖਦਾਰੀ ॥ ॥

The Restorer of what was taken away, the Liberator from captivity; the Formless Lord, the Destroyer of pain.

ਕਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਲੋਭੀ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ॥ ॥

I do not know about karma and good deeds; I do not know about Dharma and righteous living. I am so greedy, chasing after Maya.

ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਭਗਤੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ॥

I go by the name of God's devotee; please, save this honor of Yours. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ਤੂ ਮਾਣੁ ॥ ॥

O Dear Lord, You are the honor of the dishonored.

ਨਿਚੀਜਿਆ ਚੀਜ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

You make the unworthy ones worthy, O my Lord of the Universe; I am a sacrifice to Your almighty creative power. ||Pause||

ਜੈਸਾ ਬਾਲਕੁ ਭਾਇ ਸੁਭਾਈ ਲਖ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ ॥

Like the child, innocently making thousands of mistakes

ਕਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ ॥

his father teaches him, and scolds him so many times, but still, he hugs him close in his embrace.

ਪਿਛਲੇ ਅਉਗੁਣ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਗੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ॥

Please forgive my past actions, God, and place me on Your path for the future. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਈਐ ॥ ॥

The Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows all about my state of mind; so who else should I go to and speak to?

ਕਹਣੈ ਕਥਨਿ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈਐ ॥ ॥

The Lord, the Lord of the Universe, is not pleased by mere recitation of words; if it is pleasing to His Will, He preserves our honor.

ਅਵਰ ਓਟ ਮੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਦੇਖੀ ਇਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਰਹਾਈਐ ॥੩॥ ॥

I have seen all other shelters, but Yours alone remains for me. ||3||
