ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥ ॥
A aquel Gurú me ofrezco siempre, que me ha hecho capaz de servir a Dios.
ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਮੈਨੋ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥ ॥
Ese Satgur, mi amado, está conmigo, dondequiera que me lleve o me deje.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥ ॥
A aquel Gurú le doy mi aplauso, que ha encontrado la sabiduría de Dios.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਰਾਈ ॥੫॥ ॥
Nanak se ha refugiado en el Gurú, que ha colmado los deseos de mi corazón con el Nombre de Dios. ||5||
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ॥
Sloka, Tercer Mehl:
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦਾਧੀ ਜਲਿ ਮੁਈ ਜਲਿ ਜਲਿ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥ ॥
La sed ardiente se apaga en el agua; el agua misma clama.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੀਤਲ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਲੈ ਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ॥ ॥
Si uno encuentra al Satgur, el Ser refrescante, no arderá de nuevo.
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ॥
Oh Nanak, sin el Nombre, no hay miedo; mientras no se reflexione sobre la Palabra. ||1||
ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ॥
Tercer Mehl:
ਭੇਖੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ ॥
El disfrazado no apaga el fuego; la ansiedad está en mi mente.
ਵਰਮੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਸਾਪੁ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਤਿਉ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥ ॥
Como una serpiente herida, no muere; así, los impíos realizan sus acciones.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ ॥
Sirve al Satgur, el Dador; la Palabra reside en la mente.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥ ॥
La mente y el cuerpo se refrescan, la paz se logra, y el fuego de la lujuria se apaga.
ਸੁਖਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥ ॥
La felicidad permanece en la cabeza; la felicidad siempre permanece cuando uno renuncia al ego.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ ॥
El Gursikh se vuelve indiferente al mundo; aquel que permanece unido al Verdadero.
ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਜਾ ਆਘਾਇ ॥ ॥
No habrá raíz de ansiedad; uno se satisface con el Nombre de Dios.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹ ਛੂਟੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚਹਿ ਪਚਾਇ ॥੨॥ ॥
Oh Nanak, sin el Nombre, uno no se libera; el ego se quema y consume. ||2||

Pauri:
ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਤਿਨੀ ਪਾਇਅੜੇ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ॥ ॥
Aquellos que meditan en el Nombre de Dios, Hari, Hari, obtienen todos los placeres.
ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਭੁਖਾ ॥ ॥
La vida de aquellos es fructífera, cuyo corazón está hambriento del Nombre de Dios.
ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਵਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖਾ ॥ ॥
Aquellos que han adorado según las enseñanzas del Gurú, han olvidado todos los sufrimientos.
ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਭਲੇ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਪਰਾਈ ਚੁਖਾ ॥ ॥
Esos santos son buenos Gursikhs; no tienen la preocupación de los demás.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਮੁਖਾ ॥੬॥ ॥
Bendito, bendito es el Gurú de aquellos...
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ॥
Shalok, Third Mehla:
ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਮੁ ਜੰਦਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ ॥
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Messenger of Death is the enemy of life, but he acts according to the Lord's Command.
ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਾ ਦੇਇ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ ॥
Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs receive their punishment.
ਜਮਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਜਗੁ ਬਾਂਧਿਆ ਤਿਸ ਦਾ ਫਰੂ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ ॥
The world is under the control, and in the bondage of the Messenger of Death; no one can hold him back.
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਮੁ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੋ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ ॥
So serve the One who created Death; as Gurmukh, no pain shall touch you.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਮੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਸਚਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ॥
O Nanak, Death serves the Gurmukhs; the True Lord abides in their minds. ||1||
ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ॥
Third Mehla:
ਏਹਾ ਕਾਇਆ ਰੋਗਿ ਭਰੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ॥
This body is filled with disease; without the Word of the Shabad, the pain of the disease of ego does not depart.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥ ॥
When one meets the True Guru, then he becomes immaculately pure, and he enshrines the Lord's Name within his mind.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੨॥ ॥
O Nanak, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Peace-Giving Lord, his pains are automatically forgotten. ||2||
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ॥
Pauree:
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has taught me about the Lord, the Life of the World.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
I am every bit a sacrifice to the Guru, the Lover of Nectar, who has revealed the Name of the Lord.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has totally cured me of the fatal disease of egotism.
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਕਟਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
Glorious and great are the virtues of the Guru, who has eradicated evil, and instructed me in virtue.
