ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
El apego a Maya, la ilusión, mancha el interior. El comercio con Maya, ¡oh Rama!
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਜਗਤਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਵਣਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ ॥
El comercio con Maya es amado por el mundo, pero causa dolor en el ir y venir (del ciclo de nacimientos y muertes).
ਬਿਖੁ ਕਾ ਕੀੜਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗਾ ਬਿਸ੍ਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ॥
El gusano del veneno se aferra al veneno y se absorbe en el excremento.
ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਇ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
Uno cosecha lo que está escrito desde el principio; nadie puede borrarlo.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਰਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੂਕਿ ਮੁਏ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ ॥
Nanak, aquellos imbuidos en el Nombre encuentran dicha eterna; los demás, necios, gritan y mueren como ignorantes. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
La mente está teñida por el apego a Maya, sin ninguna consciencia, ¡oh Rama!
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗੀਐ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਜਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
A través del Gurú, esta mente se tiñe (con el amor divino), y el otro color (el apego) desaparece, ¡oh Rama!
ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਜਾਈ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
El otro color desaparece, se absorbe en la Verdad; los tesoros se llenan de Verdad.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
Solo quien sigue al Gurú comprende esto, el que es adornado por la Verdad.
ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥ ॥
Dios mismo une (al alma con Él); entonces uno se encuentra con Hari. Decir cualquier otra cosa es inútil.
ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਇਕਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੫॥ ॥
Nanak, sin el Nombre, uno vaga perdido en la ilusión; aquellos imbuidos en el Nombre se tiñen con Su amor. ||4||5||
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ॥
Wadhans, Tercer Guru.
ਏ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਿਆ ਆਵਾ ਗਉਣੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਚਿ ਨਿਬੇੜਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
Oh, mi mente, el canto de este mundo es transitorio; al final, el ajuste de cuentas es con la Verdad, ¡oh Rama!
ਆਪੇ ਸਚਾ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਫੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
El Verdadero mismo perdona y libera; entonces no hay más ciclos de renacimiento, ¡oh Rama!
ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਫੇਰਾ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਚਿ ਨਿਬੇੜਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ॥
No hay más ciclos de renacimiento; al final, el ajuste de cuentas es con la Verdad. A través del Gurú, se obtiene grandeza.
ਸਾਚੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ॥
Teñidos con el color de la Verdad, permanecen absortos en serena dicha, unidos a la serenidad.
ਸਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥ ॥
La Verdad se vuelve agradable a la mente, la Verdad se instala en ella; imbuidos en la Palabra, se resuelve la cuenta final.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਭਵਜਲਿ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ॥
Nanak, aquellos imbuidos en el Nombre se fusionan con la Verdad; no hay más vueltas en el océano del mundo material. ||1||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਬਰਲੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
El apego a Maya es todo una trampa; el amor por la dualidad causa pérdida, ¡oh Rama!
ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਹੇਤੁ ਹੈ ਹੇਤੇ ਪਲਚਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
Madre, padre, todo es apego; por el apego, uno es atormentado, ¡oh Rama!
ਹੇਤੇ ਪਲਚਾਈ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਕਮਾਈ ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ ॥
Atormentado por el apego, las acciones pasadas no pueden ser borradas por nadie.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਜੀ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ॥
Quien creó la creación...
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਧਾ ਤਪਿ ਤਪਿ ਖਪੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਈ ॥ ॥
The blind, self-willed manmukh is consumed by his burning rage; without the Word of the Shabad, peace is not obtained.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਭੁਲਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਖੁਆਈ ॥੨॥ ॥
O Nanak, without the Name, everyone is deluded, ruined by emotional attachment to Maya. ||2||
ਏਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਲਤਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਭਜਿ ਪਏ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
Seeing that this world on fire, I have hurried to the Sanctuary of the Lord.
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰਂੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਆਗੈ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
I offer my prayer to the Perfect Guru: please save me, and bless me with Your glorious greatness.
ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ ॥
Preserve me in Your Sanctuary, and bless me with the glorious greatness of the Name of the Lord; there is no other Giver as great as You.
ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੇ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ ॥
Those who are engaged in serving You are very fortunate; throughout the ages, they know the One Lord.
ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥ ॥
You may practice celibacy, truth, austere self-discipline and rituals, but without the Guru, you shall not be emancipated.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਜੋ ਜਾਇ ਪਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥ ॥
O Nanak, he alone understands the Word of the Shabad, who goes and seeks the Lord's Sanctuary. ||3||
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ਸਾ ਊਪਜੈ ਹੋਰ ਮਤਿ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
That understanding, imparted by the Lord, wells up; there is no other understanding.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥
Deep within, and beyond as well, You alone are, O Lord; You Yourself impart this understanding.
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥ ॥
One whom He Himself blesses with this understanding, does not love any other. As Gurmukh, he tastes the subtle essence of the Lord.
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥ ॥
In the True Court, he is forever True; with love, he chants the True Word of the Shabad.
