ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਊਤਮ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ ॥

Este tesoro lo recita en su mente quien lo desea.

ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥ ॥

En todas las eras, esa es su condición.

ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਸਗਲ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸ ॥ ॥

Las virtudes, el nombre de Gobind, la melodía de la escritura.

ਸੁੰਦਰੁ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਤਤ ਕਾ ਬੇਤਾ ॥ ॥

Las escrituras, los shastras y los Vedas lo describen.

ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੇਤਾ ॥ ॥

Todas las creencias son simplemente el nombre de Har.

ਇਹ ਫਲ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਨੇ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਬਚਨ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਨੇ ॥੬॥ ॥

Paz en la mente del devoto de Gobind.

ਇਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੋਇ ॥ ॥

Millones de pecados se borran con la compañía de los santos.

ਸਭ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ ॥

Por la gracia de los santos, uno se libera de la muerte.

ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ॥

Aquellos en cuyas frentes el Señor ha escrito el destino, vienen al refugio de los santos, Nanak.

ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੇਦ ਬਖਾਣੀ ॥ ॥

The Simritees, the Shaastras and the Vedas speak of it.

ਸਗਲ ਮਤਾਂਤ ਕੇਵਲ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥ ॥

The essence of all religion is the Lord's Name alone.

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਗਤ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥ ॥

It abides in the minds of the devotees of God.

ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੈ ॥ ॥

Millions of sins are erased, in the Company of the Holy.

ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੈ ॥ ॥

By the Grace of the Saint, one escapes the Messenger of Death.

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਾਏ ॥ ॥

Those, who have such pre-ordained destiny on their foreheads,

ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਆਏ ॥੭॥ ॥

O Nanak, enter the Sanctuary of the Saints. ||7||

ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਸੁਨੈ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ ॥

One, within whose mind it abides, and who listens to it with love

ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚੀਤਿ ॥ ॥

that humble person consciously remembers the Lord God.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥ ॥

The pains of birth and death are removed.

ਦੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਉਧਾਰੈ ॥ ॥

The human body, so difficult to obtain, is instantly redeemed.

ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਭਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ ॥

Spotlessly pure is his reputation, and ambrosial is his speech.

ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥ ॥

The One Name permeates his mind.

ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ॥ ॥

Sorrow, sickness, fear and doubt depart.

ਸਾਧ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਰਮ ॥ ॥

He is called a Holy person; his actions are immaculate and pure.

ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਬਨੀ ॥ ॥

His glory becomes the highest of all.

ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਗੁਣਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ॥੮॥੨੪॥ ॥

O Nanak, by these Glorious Virtues, this is named Sukhmani, Peace of mind. ||8||24||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥ ॥

The Creator Lord and Master is pervading the water, the land, and the sky.

ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ॥

In so many ways, the One, the Universal Creator has diffused Himself, O Nanak. ||1||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ॥

Pauree:

ਏਕਮ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਉ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ ॥

The first day of the lunar cycle: Bow in humility and meditate on the One, the Universal Creator Lord God.

ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥ ॥

Praise God, the Lord of the Universe, the Sustainer of the World; seek the Sanctuary of the Lord, our King.

ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਸੁਖ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ॥

Place your hopes in Him, for salvation and peace; all things come from Him.

ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ ॥

I wandered around the four corners of the world and in the ten directions, but I saw nothing except Him.

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ ॥

I listened to the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, and I pondered over them in so many ways.

ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਭੈ ਹਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥ ॥

The Saving Grace of sinners, the Destroyer of fear, the Ocean of peace, the Formless Lord.

ਦਾਤਾ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਦੇਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ॥

The Great Giver, the Enjoyer, the Bestower - there is no place at all without Him.

ਜੋ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ ॥

You shall obtain all that you desire, O Nanak, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥ ॥

Sing the Praises of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, each and every day.

ਮਿਲਿ ਭਜੀਐ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and vibrate, meditate on Him, O my friend. ||1||Pause||

ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥ ॥

Shalok:

ਕਰਉ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਵਾਰ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥ ॥

Bow in humility to the Lord, over and over again, and enter the Sanctuary of the Lord, our King.

ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਭਾਉ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥੨॥ ॥

Doubt is eradicated, O Nanak, in the Company of the Holy, and the love of duality is eliminated. ||2||

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ॥

Pauree:

ਦੁਤੀਆ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥ ॥

The second day of the lunar cycle: Get rid of your evil-mindedness, and serve the Guru continually.

ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਸੈ ਤਜਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੀਤ ॥ ॥

The jewel of the Lord's Name shall come to dwell in your mind and body, when you renounce sexual desire, anger and greed, O my friend.

ਮਰਣੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸ ॥ ॥

Conquer death and obtain eternal life; all your troubles will depart.

ਆਪੁ ਤਜਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਜਹੁ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਰਵੇਸ ॥ ॥

Renounce your self-conceit and vibrate upon the Lord of the Universe; loving devotion to Him shall permeate your being.
