ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਓਲਾ ॥ ॥
Oh, mi mente, busca profundamente el Nombre del Señor.
ਤੁਝੈ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾਤਾ ਝੋਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
No te aflijas con las preocupaciones mundanas. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ ॥
Como un barco en el océano del miedo,
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੀਪਾਹਿ ॥ ॥
la luz de la lámpara disipa la oscuridad.
ਅਗਨਿ ਸੀਤ ਕਾ ਲਾਹਸਿ ਦੂਖ ॥ ॥
El Nombre elimina el sufrimiento del fuego y el frío,
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਸੂਖ ॥੨॥ ॥
y la mente encuentra paz al recitarlo. ||2||
ਉਤਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ॥ ॥
Tu sed mental se saciará,
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਆਸ ॥ ॥
y todas tus esperanzas se cumplirán.
ਡੋਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਚੀਤੁ ॥ ॥
Tu mente no vacilará,
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਤ ॥੩॥ ॥
al recitar el Nombre del néctar, con la ayuda del Gurú. ||3||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
El Nombre es la medicina que uno recibe,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
cuando Dios concede Su gracia.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥ ॥
El Nombre de Dios reside en el corazón de aquellos,
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਸੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੭੯॥ ॥
a quienes Nának, el sufrimiento y el dolor los abandonan. ||4|| 10|| 79||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Gauri Guareri, Mahala 5:
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਰਬੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਨ ਅਘਾਨਾ ॥ ॥
He hecho muchos esfuerzos, pero mi mente no está satisfecha.
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਹ ਪਤੀਆਨਾ ॥ ॥
He visto muchas formas, pero no he encontrado satisfacción.
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਜਾਨਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥ ॥
Mi esposa e hijos me preocupan,
ਓਹ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਓਇ ਭਸਮੈ ਢੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ॥
pero ellos son efímeros, como cenizas. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਨ ਦੇਖਉ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੇ ॥ ॥
Sin la adoración de Dios, veo a la gente lamentándose,
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਤਨੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
¡Qué desgracia es el cuerpo, qué desgracia es la riqueza, unidos a la ilusión! ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਬਿਗਾਰੀ ਕੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਦਾਮ ॥ ॥
Como se paga un salario a un trabajador,
ਓਇ ਖਸਮੈ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਉਨ ਦੂਖ ਸਹਾਮ ॥ ॥
así, en la casa del Señor, se soportan las penas.
ਜਿਉ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਹੋਇ ਬੈਸਤ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ ॥
Como un rey que reina en un sueño,
ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪਸਾਰੈ ਤਾ ਨਿਰਾਰਥ ਕਾਜਾ ॥੨॥ ॥
cuando abre los ojos, todo es inútil. ||2||
ਜਿਉ ਰਾਖਾ ਖੇਤ ਊਪਰਿ ਪਰਾਏ ॥ ॥
Como un guardián que cuida un campo ajeno,
ਖੇਤੁ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਏ ॥ ॥
el campo pertenece al Señor, y el guardián se va.
ਉਸੁ ਖੇਤ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਰਾਖਾ ਕੜੈ ॥ ॥
El guardián sufre por ese campo,
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਪਾਲੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਪੜੈ ॥੩॥ ॥
y no obtiene nada de su cuidado. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਰਾਜੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥ ॥
El reino de alguien es solo un sueño,
ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀਨੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਲਾਈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ॥ ॥
el que da la ilusión, también infunde el deseo.
ਆਪਿ ਬਿਨਾਹੇ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ ॥
Él mismo crea y Él mismo destruye,
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੧੧॥੮੦॥ ॥
Nanak hace una súplica ante Dios. ||4|| 11|| 80||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Gauri
ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪੇਖੀ ॥ ॥
I have gazed upon the many forms of Maya, in so many ways.
ਕਲਮ ਕਾਗਦ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਲੇਖੀ ॥ ॥
With pen and paper, I have written clever things.
ਮਹਰ ਮਲੂਕ ਹੋਇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਖਾਨ ॥ ॥
I have seen what it is to be a chief, a king, and an emperor,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨ ॥੧॥ ॥
but they do not satisfy the mind. ||1||
ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸੰਤ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥ ॥
Show me that peace, O Saints,
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
which will quench my thirst and satisfy my mind. ||1||Pause||
ਅਸੁ ਪਵਨ ਹਸਤਿ ਅਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
You may have horses as fast as the wind, elephants to ride on,
ਚੋਆ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਸੇਜ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
sandalwood oil, and beautiful women in bed,
ਨਟ ਨਾਟਿਕ ਆਖਾਰੇ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
actors in dramas, singing in theaters
ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ ॥
- but even with them, the mind does not find contentment. ||2||
ਤਖਤੁ ਸਭਾ ਮੰਡਨ ਦੋਲੀਚੇ ॥ ॥
You may have a throne at the royal court, with beautiful decorations and soft carpets,
ਸਗਲ ਮੇਵੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਗੀਚੇ ॥ ॥
all sorts of luscious fruits and beautiful gardens,
ਆਖੇੜ ਬਿਰਤਿ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੀ ਲੀਲਾ ॥ ॥
the excitement of the chase and princely pleasures
ਮਨੁ ਨ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਹੀਲਾ ॥੩॥ ॥
- but still, the mind is not made happy by such illusory diversions. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਤਨ ਸਚੁ ਕਹਿਆ ॥ ॥
In their kindness, the Saints have told me of the True One,
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਇਹੁ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਲਹਿਆ ॥ ॥
and so I have obtained all comforts and joy.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ॥ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥ ॥
Says Nanak, through great good fortune, I have found this. ||4||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥ ॥
One who obtains the wealth of the Lord becomes happy.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧੨॥੮੧॥ ॥
By God's Grace, I have joined the Saadh Sangat. ||1||Second Pause||12||81||
