ਉਕਤਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਸਗਲੀ ਤਿਆਗੁ ॥ ॥
El mandato del Gurú es eterno e indestructible; con el mandato del Gurú, se rompen las ataduras de la muerte.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੨॥ ॥
El mandato del Gurú está siempre con el alma; con el mandato del Gurú, uno se une al amor de Dios.
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਹਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥ ॥
(1) Lo que el Gurú da, eso satisface el corazón; acepta con verdad lo que los santos hacen.
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥ ॥
(1) ||Pause|| El mandato del Gurú es inamovible e indivisible; con el mandato del Gurú, se rompen las ilusiones y las diferencias.
ਉਪਾਵ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥ ॥
El mandato del Gurú nunca se pierde; con el mandato del Gurú, uno canta las glorias de Dios.
ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥੩॥ ॥
(2) El mandato del Gurú está con el alma; el mandato del Gurú es el refugio de los desamparados.
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ ॥
Con el mandato del Gurú, uno no cae en el infierno; con el mandato del Gurú, la lengua recita el néctar.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ॥
(3) El mandato del Gurú se manifiesta en el mundo; con el mandato del Gurú, uno no conoce la derrota.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਆਪੁ ॥ ॥
Aquel a quien Dios ha mostrado Su gracia, Nanak, el verdadero Gurú es siempre misericordioso.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੪॥੭੩॥ ॥
O Nanak, chant and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||4||73||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word is eternal and everlasting.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੀ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word cuts away the noose of Death.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word is always with the soul.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਚੈ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ॥
Through the Guru's Word, one is immersed in the Love of the Lord. ||1||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥ ॥
Whatever the Guru gives, is useful to the mind.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Whatever the Saint does - accept that as True. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word is infallible and unchanging.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੇਦ ॥ ॥
Through the Guru's Word, doubt and prejudice are dispelled.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word never goes away;
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥ ॥
through the Guru's Word, we sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word accompanies the soul.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word is the Master of the masterless.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word saves one from falling into hell.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਵੈ ॥੩॥ ॥
Through the Guru's Word, the tongue savors the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ ॥
The Guru's Word is revealed in the world.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ ॥
Through the Guru's Word, no one suffers defeat.
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੪॥ ॥
O Nanak, the True Guru is always kind and compassionate, unto those whom the Lord Himself has blessed with His Mercy. ||4||5||74||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮਾਟੀ ਤੇ ਰਤਨੁ ॥ ॥
He makes jewels out of the dust,
ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ॥ ॥
and He managed to preserve you in the womb.
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ॥
He has given you fame and greatness;
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ॥
meditate on that God, twenty-four hours a day. ||1||
ਰਮਈਆ ਰੇਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ ॥
O Lord, I seek the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Meeting the Guru, I meditate on my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੂੜ ਤੇ ਬਕਤਾ ॥ ॥
He transformed me, the fool, into a fine speaker,
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤਾ ॥ ॥
and He made the unconscious become conscious;
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ॥
by His Grace, I have obtained the nine treasures.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ ॥
May I never forget that God from my mind. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ ॥
He has given a home to the homeless;
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ॥
He has given honor to the dishonored.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥ ॥
He has fulfilled all desires;
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੩॥ ॥
remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ॥ ॥
By His Grace, the bonds of Maya are cut away.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਟੀ ॥ ॥
By Guru's Grace, the bitter poison has become Ambrosial Nectar.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ ॥
Says Nanak, I cannot do anything;
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਕਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੫॥ ॥
I praise the Lord, the Protector. ||4||6||75||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਉ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ ॥
In His Sanctuary, there is no fear or sorrow.
ਉਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ ॥
Without Him, nothing at all can be done.
ਤਜੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ ॥
I have renounced clever tricks, power and intellectual corruption.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ ॥
God is the Protector of His servant. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥ ॥
Meditate, O my mind, on the Lord, Raam, Raam, with love.
ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Within your home, and beyond it, He is always with you. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥ ॥
Keep His Support in your mind.
