ਹਸਤੀ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਾਸਾ ॥ ॥

Viendo los elefantes y caballos, se siente orgullo.

ਲਸਕਰ ਜੋੜੇ ਨੇਬ ਖਵਾਸਾ ॥ ॥

Se reúne un ejército, un séquito de nobles.

ਗਲਿ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੇ ਫਾਸਾ ॥੨॥ ॥

Pero el apego al ego es una soga al cuello.

ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਸਾਰੀ ॥ ॥

||2|| Conquista reinos en las diez direcciones.

ਮਾਣੈ ਰੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ ॥

Se deleita en los colores, los placeres y muchas mujeres.

ਜਿਉ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ॥

Como un rey en un sueño, una apariencia engañosa.

ਏਕੁ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥ ॥

||3|| El único bien que el Gurú me ha mostrado es: todo lo que Hari hace, es por el amor de sus devotos.

ਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ ॥

El siervo Nanak, ha eliminado el ego y se ha unido a Él.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥ ॥

||4|| De esta manera, oh hermanos míos, se obtiene el bien.

ਇਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੁਸਲ ਹੋਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ ॥

Así se encuentra a Hari, el Señor protector.

ਇਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥ ॥

This is the way to find the Lord, our Help and Support. ||1||Second Pause||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:

ਕਿਉ ਭ੍ਰਮੀਐ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਹੋਈ ॥ ॥

Why do you doubt? What do you doubt?

ਜਾ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥ ॥

God is pervading the water, the land and the sky.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੧॥ ॥

The Gurmukhs are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs lose their honor. ||1||

ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਦਇਆਰਾ ॥ ॥

One who is protected by the Merciful Lord

ਤਿਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

- no one else can rival him. ||1||Pause||

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕੁ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥ ॥

The Infinite One is pervading among all.

ਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਉ ਹੋਇ ਅਚਿੰਤਾ ॥ ॥

So sleep in peace, and don't worry.

ਓਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੋ ਵਰਤੰਤਾ ॥੨॥ ॥

He knows everything which happens. ||2||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਏ ਜਿਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥ ॥

The self-willed manmukhs are dying in the thirst of duality.

ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਵਹਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸਾ ॥ ॥

They wander lost through countless incarnations; this is their pre-ordained destiny.

ਜੈਸਾ ਬੀਜਹਿ ਤੈਸਾ ਖਾਸਾ ॥੩॥ ॥

As they plant, so shall they harvest. ||3||

ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਵਿਗਾਸਾ ॥ ॥

Beholding the Blessed Vision, my mind has blossomed forth.

ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥ ॥

And now everywhere I look, God is revealed to me.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੭੧॥ ॥

Servant Nanak's hopes have been fulfilled by the Lord. ||4||2||71||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਭਏ ਕੀਟ ਪਤੰਗਾ ॥ ॥

In so many incarnations, you were a worm and a moth;

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਗਜ ਮੀਨ ਕੁਰੰਗਾ ॥ ॥

in so many incarnations, you were an elephant, a fish and a deer.

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਪੰਖੀ ਸਰਪ ਹੋਇਓ ॥ ॥

In so many incarnations, you were a bird and a snake.

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਹੈਵਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਖ ਜੋਇਓ ॥੧॥ ॥

In so many incarnations, you were yoked as an ox and a horse. ||1||

ਮਿਲੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ॥ ॥

Meet the Lord of the Universe - now is the time to meet Him.

ਚਿਰੰਕਾਲ ਇਹ ਦੇਹ ਸੰਜਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

After so very long, this human body was fashioned for you. ||1||Pause||

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਸੈਲ ਗਿਰਿ ਕਰਿਆ ॥ ॥

In so many incarnations, you were rocks and mountains;

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਗਰਭ ਹਿਰਿ ਖਰਿਆ ॥ ॥

in so many incarnations, you were aborted in the womb;

ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਸਾਖ ਕਰਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ ॥

in so many incarnations, you developed branches and leaves;

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ ॥

you wandered through 8.4 million incarnations. ||2||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਇਓ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ॥ ॥

Through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you obtained this human life.

ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ॥ ॥

Do seva - selfless service; follow the Guru's Teachings, and vibrate the Lord's Name, Har, Har.

ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ ॥

Abandon pride, falsehood and arrogance.

ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਹਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੩॥ ॥

Remain dead while yet alive, and you shall be welcomed in the Court of the Lord. ||3||

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੁ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਗੁ ॥ ॥

Whatever has been, and whatever shall be, comes from You, Lord.

ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ ॥

No one else can do anything at all.

ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲੈਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ ॥

We are united with You, when You unite us with Yourself.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥੭੨॥ ॥

Says Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||3||72||

ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

Gauree Gwaarayree, Fifth Mehla:

ਕਰਮ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਹਿ ਬੋਅਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ॥

In the field of karma, plant the seed of the Naam.

ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਕਾਮੁ ॥ ॥

Your works shall be brought to fruition.

ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਜਮ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥ ॥

You shall obtain these fruits, and the fear of death shall be dispelled.

ਨਿਤ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਸ ॥੧॥ ॥

Sing continually the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ ॥

Keep the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, enshrined in your heart,

ਸੀਘਰ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

and your affairs shall be quickly resolved. ||1||Pause||

ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੁ ॥ ॥

Be always attentive to your God;

ਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ॥

thus you shall be honored in His Court.
