ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਲਾਇ ਦੇਹ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
[Los ascetas adornan sus cuerpos con ceniza sagrada.
ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਤਿਆਗੁ ਕਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
Pero renuncian a las mujeres y viven como brahmachari.
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ॥
Yo, un necio, solo tengo esperanza en Ti.
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇ ਸੂਰਤਣੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
Los guerreros realizan sus deberes y obtienen honor.
ਸੂਦੁ ਵੈਸੁ ਪਰ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
Los comerciantes y los mercaderes ganan su sustento con su trabajo.
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ ॥
Yo, un necio, solo anhelo el Nombre Divino.
ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ॥
Toda la creación es Tuya, Tú mismo permaneces inmerso en ella.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ॥
Gracias a la gracia del Gurú, Nanak encuentra grandeza.
ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੩੯॥ ॥
Yo, ciego, encuentro refugio en Ti.
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ॥
La historia del Desprovisto es la historia de Dios.
ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥ ॥
Asóciate con los santos y la congregación.
ਭਜੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ॥ ॥
Cruza el océano del miedo escuchando el relato inefable de Dios.
ਤਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥੧॥ ॥
Encuentra unión con Dios en la compañía de los santos.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥ ॥
Saborea el néctar de Dios, canta las glorias de Rama.
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Aquellos que meditan en el Nombre de Dios, hazlos tus siervos, oh Rama.
ਜੋ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ ॥
Servir a la gente es la mejor acción.
ਤਿਨ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਮ ਰਾਮਾ ॥ ॥
Aquel que comparte la historia de Dios, ese me agrada en mi mente y corazón.
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਊਤਮ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥ ॥
Aquel que toca el polvo de los pies de los santos tiene gran fortuna.
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
He encontrado amor con los santos, a quienes el destino les ha escrito este destino.
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
Oh Nanak, esas almas se unen al Nombre Divino.
ਜਨ ਪਗ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ ॥
La madre ama a su hijo y lo alimenta.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ॥
El pez ama el agua.
ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੦॥ ॥
El Gurú verdadero infunde amor en el corazón de sus discípulos.
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ॥
Oh, Dios mío, une a tus devotos conmigo, oh amado.
ਮਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਤੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ ॥
Al encontrarlos, mis sufrimientos desaparecen.
ਮੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭਈ ਜਲਿ ਨਾਇ ॥ ॥
Como la ternera se une a su madre con amor, como la mujer ama a su esposo cuando regresa a casa, así los devotos aman a Dios.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ॥

ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਹਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ ॥
.
ਜਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਹਿ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Meeting with them, my sorrows depart. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਛਰੇ ਗਊ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
As the cow shows her love to her strayed calf when she finds it,
ਕਾਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥ ॥
and as the bride shows her love for her husband when he returns home,
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ॥
so does the Lord's humble servant love to sing the Praises of the Lord. ||2||
ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਬਸੈ ਜਲ ਧਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
The rainbird loves the rainwater, falling in torrents;
ਨਰਪਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
the king loves to see his wealth on display.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਜਪੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ ॥
The humble servant of the Lord loves to meditate on the Formless Lord. ||3||
ਨਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟੇ ॥ ॥
The mortal man loves to accumulate wealth and property.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗਲਾਟੇ ॥ ॥
The GurSikh loves to meet and embrace the Guru.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਚਾਟੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੪੧॥ ॥
Servant Nanak loves to kiss the feet of the Holy. ||4||3||41||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ ॥
Gauree Gwaarayree, Fourth Mehla:
ਭੀਖਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਭੀਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਇ ॥ ॥
The beggar loves to receive charity from the wealthy landlord.
ਭੂਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਅੰਨੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ ॥
The hungry person loves to eat food.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਘਾਇ ॥੧॥ ॥
The GurSikh loves to find satisfaction by meeting the Guru. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
O Lord, grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; I place my hopes in You, Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੋਚ ਪੂਰਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Shower me with Your Mercy, and fulfill my longing. ||1||Pause||
ਚਕਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ ॥
The song-bird loves the sun shining in her face.
ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਭ ਦੁਖ ਤਿਆਗੈ ॥ ॥
Meeting her Beloved, all her pains are left behind.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੨॥ ॥
The GurSikh loves to gaze upon the Face of the Guru. ||2||
ਬਛਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਖੀਰੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਖਾਇ ॥ ॥
The calf loves to suck its mother's milk;
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਦੇਖੈ ਮਾਇ ॥ ॥
its heart blossoms forth upon seeing its mother.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥ ॥
The GurSikh loves to gaze upon the Face of the Guru. ||3||
ਹੋਰੁ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਕਾਚਾ ॥ ॥
All other loves and emotional attachment to Maya are false.
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਕੂਰਾ ਕਚੁ ਪਾਚਾ ॥ ॥
They shall pass away, like false and transitory decorations.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੪੨॥ ॥
Servant Nanak is fulfilled, through the Love of the True Guru. ||4||4||42||
