ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਾਗ੍ਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਪਵਈ ਥਾਇ ॥ ॥

El egoísmo no permite la vigilia espiritual, ni permite la devoción a Dios. Los auto-satisfechos no encuentran favor, realizando acciones egoístas. ||4||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦਰਿ ਢੋਈ ਨਾ ਲਹਹਿ ਭਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੪॥ ॥

Despreciable es la comida, despreciable la vestimenta, de aquellos cuyo amor está en el egoísmo. Como gusanos en la basura, manchados por la basura, mueren y nacen, y están perdidos. ||5||

ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਪੈਨੑਣਾ ਜਿਨੑਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ ॥

Aquellos que han encontrado al verdadero Gurú, a ellos me inclino. Permaneceré en su compañía, absorbiéndome en la Verdad Suprema. ||6||

ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੫॥ ॥

Con buena fortuna se encuentra al Gurú; no se puede obtener por ningún medio. Del verdadero Gurú surge la paz interior, quemando el ego con el Naam (nombre divino). ||7||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ ॥

Refúgiate en Dios, oh mi mente; eres capaz de hacer cualquier cosa. Oh Nanak, no olvides el Nombre Divino; todo lo que haces será exitoso. ||8||2||7||2||9||

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਾਂ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੬॥ ॥

ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਉਪਾਇ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ ॥

Madre, padre, hermanos, hijos, esposa;

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਹਜੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਇ ॥੭॥ ॥

Disfrutan de los placeres del mundo, unidos en alegría.

ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥ ॥

Mi mente se ha enredado en los dulces encantos;

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਗੁ ॥੮॥੨॥੭॥੨॥੯॥ ॥

Alabo las virtudes de mi sostén, mi alma. ||1||

ਬਿਭਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ ॥

Él es nuestro único, el Conocedor del corazón;

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ॥

En Él solo me apoyo, Su aliento está en mi cabeza, el Gran Señor, el Amo. ||1|| Refrán ||

ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤੁ ਬਨਿਤਾ ॥ ॥

Mi relación con la serpiente de la falsedad se ha roto;

ਚੂਗਹਿ ਚੋਗ ਅਨੰਦ ਸਿਉ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥ ॥

El Gurú me dijo que era una ilusión engañosa.

ਉਰਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਮਨ ਮੀਠ ਮੋਹਾਰਾ ॥

Dulce en la boca, pero amarga en el interior;

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ॥

Mi mente se ha saciado con el néctar del Nombre Divino. ||2||

ਏਕੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ ॥

La avaricia y el apego se han ido;

ਧਰ ਏਕਾ ਮੈ ਟਿਕ ਏਕਸੁ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

El Gurú misericordioso me ha liberado.

ਛਲ ਨਾਗਨਿ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਟੂਟਨਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ ॥

Esta estafa ha causado mucho dolor;

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਇਹ ਝੂਠੀ ਧੋਹੀ ॥ ॥

El Gurú misericordioso me ha protegido. ||3||

ਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਖਾਈ ਕਉਰਾਇ ॥ ॥

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਘਾਇ ॥੨॥ ॥

My mind remains satisfied with the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਸਿਉ ਗਈ ਵਿਖੋਟਿ ॥ ॥

I have broken my ties with greed and emotional attachment.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥ ॥

The Merciful Guru has rescued me from them.

ਇਹ ਠਗਵਾਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਘਰ ਗਾਲੇ ॥ ॥

These cheating thieves have plundered so many homes.

ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੇ ॥੩॥ ॥

The Merciful Guru has protected and saved me. ||3||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸਿਉ ਠਾਟੁ ਨ ਬਨਿਆ ॥ ॥

I have no dealings whatsoever with sexual desire and anger.

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਾਨੀ ਸੁਨਿਆ ॥ ॥

I listen to the Guru's Teachings.

ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਮਹਾ ਚੰਡਾਲ ॥ ॥

Wherever I look, I see the most horrible goblins.

ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੪॥ ॥

My Guru, the Lord of the World, has saved me from them. ||4||

ਦਸ ਨਾਰੀ ਮੈ ਕਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ॥ ॥

I have made widows of the ten sensory organs.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਏਹ ਰਸਹਿ ਬਿਖਾਗਨਿ ॥ ॥

The Guru has told me that these pleasures are the fires of corruption.

ਇਨ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ ॥

Those who associate with them go to hell.

ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੫॥ ॥

The Guru has saved me; I am lovingly attuned to the Lord. ||5||

ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ਸਿਉ ਮਸਲਤਿ ਛੋਡੀ ॥ ॥

I have forsaken the advice of my ego.

ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਹੋਡੀ ॥ ॥

The Guru has told me that this is foolish stubbornness.

ਇਹੁ ਨੀਘਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥ ॥

This ego is homeless; it shall never find a home.

ਹਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੬॥ ॥

The Guru has saved me; I am lovingly attuned to the Lord. ||6||

ਇਨ ਲੋਗਨ ਸਿਉ ਹਮ ਭਏ ਬੈਰਾਈ ॥ ॥

I have become alienated from these people.

ਏਕ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਦੁਇ ਨ ਖਟਾਂਈ ॥ ॥

We cannot both live together in one home.

ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਅੰਚਰਿ ਲਾਗਿ ॥ ॥

Grasping the hem of the Guru's Robe, I have come to God.

ਕਰਹੁ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਬਾਗਿ ॥੭॥ ॥

Please be fair with me, All-knowing Lord God. ||7||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਸਿ ਬੋਲੇ ਕੀਏ ਨਿਆਂਏਂ ॥ ॥

God smiled at me and spoke, passing judgement.

ਸਗਲ ਦੂਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥ ॥

He made all the demons perform service for me.

ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ ॥

You are my Lord and Master; all this home belongs to You.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥੮॥੧॥ ॥

Says Nanak, the Guru has passed judgement. ||8||1||
