ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਈ ॥ ॥

[Los que están absortos en la Verdad, la Verdad es su néctar, sus lenguas no están contaminadas por falsedades.]

ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥ ॥

[Han probado el néctar del nombre inmaculado, absortos en la Palabra, han encontrado honor.]

ਗੁਣੀ ਗੁਣੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਪਾਵਸਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ॥ ॥

[Los virtuosos se unen y obtienen ganancias; a través del Gurú, encuentran grandeza en el Nombre.]

ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੪॥੫॥੬॥ ॥

[Todos los sufrimientos desaparecen con el servicio al Gurú; Nanak, el Nombre es el amigo.]

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ॥

[El Nombre reside en el corazón, es la mayor riqueza; se obtiene por la gracia del Gurú.]

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਰਬ ਧਨੁ ਧਾਰਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ॥

[Es una sustancia inmortal, que satisface todos los deseos; se obtiene con la meditación serena y la concentración.]

ਅਮਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਤੇ ਕਿਰਤਾਰਥ ਸਹਜ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ॥

[Oh, mente, fija tu atención en la devoción a Dios.]

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ ॥

[A través del Gurú, repite el Nombre de Dios en tu corazón; con serenidad, regresa a tu hogar.]

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

[La duda, la discordia y el miedo nunca te abandonarán; viniendo y yendo, no lo sabes.]

ਭਰਮੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਭਉ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਛੂਟਸਿ ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ॥

[Sin el Nombre de Dios, no obtendrás la liberación; te ahogarás y morirás sin agua.]

ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਸਿ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਨੀ ॥੨॥ ॥

[Realizando acciones mundanas, pierdes todo tu honor; la duda no desaparece, oh ignorante.]

ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤ ਸਗਲੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਵਸਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਮਿਟਸਿ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ ॥

[Sin la Palabra del Gurú, no hay liberación; oh ciego, te dispersas en acciones mundanas.]

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਧੰਧੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥੩॥ ॥

[Mi mente está satisfecha con el Inmaculado, el Incomparable; mi mente está muerta en mi mente.]

ਅਕੁਲ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮੂਆ ॥ ॥

[Dentro y fuera, reconozco a Uno solo; Nanak, no hay otro.]

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਆ ॥੪॥੬॥੭॥ ॥

[Los sacrificios, las buenas obras, la penitencia y la adoración del mundo; el cuerpo sufre, sufre continuamente.]

ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ॥

[Sin el Nombre de Dios, no obtendrás la liberación; la liberación se obtiene a través del Gurú, a través del Nombre.]

ਜਗਨ ਹੋਮ ਪੁੰਨ ਤਪ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੇਹ ਦੁਖੀ ਨਿਤ ਦੂਖ ਸਹੈ ॥ ॥

[Sin el Nombre de Dios, el nacimiento en este mundo es en vano.]

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਸਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਹੈ ॥੧॥ ॥

[Come veneno, habla veneno, sin el Nombre, la muerte es inútil, una ilusión.]

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਿਰਥੇ ਜਗਿ ਜਨਮਾ ॥ ॥

[Estudia libros, gramática, explica, realiza rituales de la mañana y la noche.]

ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਵੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਬੋਲੀ ਬੋਲੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਿਹਫਲੁ ਮਰਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

[Sin la Palabra del Gurú, ¿dónde está la liberación?]

ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪਾਠ ਬਿਆਕਰਣ ਵਖਾਣੈ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਕਰਮ ਤਿਕਾਲ ਕਰੈ ॥ ॥

The mortal may read scriptures, study grammar and say his prayers three times a day.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਉਰਝਿ ਮਰੈ ॥੨॥ ॥

Without the Word of the Guru's Shabad, where is liberation, O mortal? Without the Lord's Name, the mortal is entangled and dies. ||2||

ਡੰਡ ਕਮੰਡਲ ਸਿਖਾ ਸੂਤੁ ਧੋਤੀ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਗਵਨੁ ਅਤਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਨੁ ਕਰੈ ॥ ॥

Walking sticks, begging bowls, hair tufts, sacred threads, loin cloths, pilgrimages to sacred shrines and wandering all around

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੩॥ ॥

- without the Lord's Name, peace and tranquility are not obtained. One who chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, crosses over to the other side. ||3||

ਜਟਾ ਮੁਕਟੁ ਤਨਿ ਭਸਮ ਲਗਾਈ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਛੋਡਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਗਨੁ ਭਇਆ ॥ ॥

The mortal's hair may be matted and tangled upon his head, and he may smear his body with ashes; he may take off his clothes and go naked.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਿਰਤ ਕੈ ਬਾਂਧੈ ਭੇਖੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੪॥ ॥

But without the Lord's Name, he is not satisfied; he wears religious robes, but he is bound by the karma of the actions he committed in past lives. ||4||

ਜੇਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਜਤ੍ਰ ਕਤ੍ਰ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ॥ ॥

As many beings and creatures as there are in the water, on the land and in the sky - wherever they are, You are with them all, O Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਝੋਲਿ ਪੀਆ ॥੫॥੭॥੮॥ ॥

By Guru's Grace, please preserve Your humble servant; O Lord, Nanak stirs up this juice, and drinks it in. ||5||7||8||

ਰਾਗੁ ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥

Raag Bhairao, Third Mehla, Chau-Padhay, First House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਜਾਤਿ ਕਾ ਗਰਬੁ ਨ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਕੋਈ ॥ ॥

No one should be proud of his social class and status.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ॥

He alone is a Brahmin, who knows God. ||1||

ਜਾਤਿ ਕਾ ਗਰਬੁ ਨ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ ॥

Do not be proud of your social class and status, you ignorant fool!
