ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਕੇਲ ਕੇਦਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
[El Ganges, el Yamuna, Kailash y Kedarnath; Varanasi, Kanchipuram y todas las ciudades santas.
ਕਾਸੀ ਕਾਂਤੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥ ॥
El Ganges, el océano, el río Beas, la confluencia de los sesenta y ocho lugares sagrados.
ਗੰਗਾ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬੇਣੀ ਸੰਗਮੁ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੯॥ ॥
Él mismo es el maestro perfecto, el meditador; Él mismo es el rey, el que realiza las cinco funciones.
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
Él mismo se sienta en el trono, justo y equitativo; el engaño, la discordia y el miedo desaparecen.
ਆਪੇ ਰਾਜਨੁ ਪੰਚਾ ਕਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
Él mismo es el juez, Él mismo es el guía; Él mismo es infalible, nunca se equivoca.
ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹੈ ਅਦਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥ ॥
Él mismo es la misericordia, la compasión, el dador; no tiene enemistad con nadie.
ਆਪੇ ਕਾਜੀ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਾ ॥ ॥
A quien Él perdona, a ese le da grandeza; Él es el dador de todo, ni un átomo se queda sin dar.
ਆਪਿ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਭੁਲਾ ॥ ॥
Él está lleno de gracia, único e incomparable; secreto y manifiesto en todas partes.
ਆਪੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥ ॥
¿Cómo puedo alabar a Aquel que es inaccesible e ilimitado?
ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ॥
El verdadero Creador, el destructor de la arrogancia.
ਸਭਸੈ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਈ ॥ ॥
A quien Él mira con gracia, a ese lo une, lo une, lo une en la unión.
ਭਰਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲੁ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥ ॥
Brahma, Vishnu y Mahesh se postran ante Él; ellos sirven al Inaccesible e Ilimitado.
ਕਿਆ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੈ ॥ ॥
¿Cuántas más puertas se ven abiertas?
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਮੁਰਾਰੈ ॥ ॥
No puedo contarlas.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥ ॥
La verdadera alabanza, la verdadera palabra; no se ve nada más que los Vedas y los Puranas.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥ ॥
La riqueza es la verdad, canto las virtudes de la verdad; no tengo otra posesión.
ਊਭੇ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੈ ॥ ॥
A través de las edades, Él es verdadero y siempre lo será; nadie ha muerto, nadie morirá.
ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਦੀਸੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਦੀ ਮੈ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥ ॥
Nanak, el humilde, hace una súplica; mira con compasión y concédeme tu amor.
ਸਾਚੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ॥
(Māru, Mahala 1) La segunda mala opinión, la ciega habla; la camisa de lujuria y enojo.
ਹੋਰ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ॥ ॥
En casa, no conoce la paz y la armonía; sin su amado, no encuentra descanso.
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਮੈ ਧਰ ਹੋਰ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥ ॥
Dentro, el fuego arde con furia; el egoísta se aferra a los cuatro lados del pozo.
ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ॥ ॥
In each and every age, the True Lord is, and shall always be.
ਕਉਣੁ ਨ ਮੂਆ ਕਉਣੁ ਨ ਮਰਸੀ ॥ ॥
Who has not died? Who shall not die?
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੨॥ ॥
Nanak the lowly offers this prayer; see Him within your own self, and lovingly focus on the Lord. ||16||2||
ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ॥
Maaroo, First Mehla:
ਦੂਜੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਅੰਨੀ ਬੋਲੀ ॥ ॥
In duality and evil-mindedness, the soul-bride is blind and deaf.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀ ਕਚੀ ਚੋਲੀ ॥ ॥
She wears the dress of sexual desire and anger.
ਘਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਛੋਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ ॥
Her Husband Lord is within the home of her own heart, but she does not know Him; without her Husband Lord, she cannot go to sleep. ||1||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲੈ ਭੜਕਾਰੇ ॥ ॥
The great fire of desire blazes within her.
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਤਕੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਚਾਰੇ ॥ ॥
The self-willed manmukh looks around in the four directions.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ ॥
Without serving the True Guru, how can she find peace? Glorious greatness rests in the hands of the True Lord. ||2||
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ ॥
Eradicating sexual desire, anger and egotism,
ਤਸਕਰ ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥ ॥
she destroys the five thieves through the Word of the Shabad.
ਗਿਆਨ ਖੜਗੁ ਲੈ ਮਨ ਸਿਉ ਲੂਝੈ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥ ॥
Taking up the sword of spiritual wisdom, she struggles with her mind, and hope and desire are smoothed over in her mind. ||3||
ਮਾ ਕੀ ਰਕਤੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਿਦੁ ਧਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
From the union of the mother's egg and the father's sperm,
ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੂਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਆਪਾਰਾ ॥ ॥
the form of infinite beauty has been created.
ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਜੇਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ ॥
The blessings of light all come from You; You are the Creator Lord, pervading everywhere. ||4||
ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣਾ ॥ ॥
You have created birth and death.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਪੜੀ ਕਿਆ ਡਰਣਾ ॥ ॥
Why should anyone fear, if they come to understand through the Guru?
ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਰੀਰਹੁ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥ ॥
When You, O Merciful Lord, look with Your kindness, then pain and suffering leave the body. ||5||
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਰਹੇ ਭਉ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
One who sits in the home of his own self, eats his own fears.
ਧਾਵਤ ਰਾਖੇ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
He quiets and holds his wandering mind still.
ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸ ਹਰੇ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥ ॥
His heart-lotus blossoms forth in the overflowing green pool, and the Lord of his soul becomes his companion and helper. ||6||
ਮਰਣੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਆਏ ॥ ॥
With their death already ordained, mortals come into this world.
ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਚਲਣਾ ਪਰਥਾਏ ॥ ॥
How can they remain here? They have to go to the world beyond.
ਸਚਾ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਚੇ ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰਿ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ ॥
True is the Lord's Command; the true ones dwell in the eternal city. The True Lord blesses them with glorious greatness. ||7||
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
He Himself created the whole world.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
The One who made it, assigns the tasks to it.
