ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਭ ਥਾਈ ॥ ॥
संतों को सब जगह सुख प्राप्त हुआ है॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
पूर्ण परमात्मा, परमेश्वर, सब जगह व्याप्त है॥ रहाउ॥
ਧੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਆਈ ॥ ॥
आदि काल की वाणी आई है॥
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥ ॥
उसने सारी चिंता मिटा दी है॥
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ ॥ ॥
दयालु पुरुष, कृपालु प्रभु,
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੧੩॥੭੭॥ ॥
हे नानक, सत्य का वर्णन करो॥२॥१३॥७७॥
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
सोरठि महला ५ ॥
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥ ॥
यहाँ और वहाँ रक्षक है॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ ॥
प्रभु, सतगुरु, दीनों पर दयालु है॥
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥ ॥
अपने दासों की वह स्वयं रक्षा करता है॥
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖੇ ॥੧॥ ॥
हर हृदय में शब्द का सुंदर उच्चारण होता है॥१॥
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ ॥
गुरु के चरणों पर मैं बलिहारी जाता हूँ॥
ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਲੀ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
दिन-रात, हर साँस के साथ, पूर्ण परमात्मा का ध्यान करो, जो सब जगह व्याप्त है॥ रहाउ॥
ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਆ ॥ ॥
वह स्वयं सहायक हुआ है॥
ਸਚੇ ਦਾ ਸਚਾ ਢੋਆ ॥ ॥
सच्चे का सच्चा आश्रय है॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ ॥
तेरी भक्ति और महिमा,
ਪਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੧੪॥੭੮॥ ॥
हे नानक, प्रभु की शरण प्राप्त हुई है॥२॥१४॥७८॥
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ ॥
When it was pleasing to the Perfect True Guru,
ਤਾ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮਾਣਾ ॥ ॥
then I chanted the Naam, the Name of the Pervading Lord.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
The Lord of the Universe extended His Mercy to me,
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ॥
and God saved my honor. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ॥
The Lord's feet are forever peace-giving.
ਜੋ ਇਛਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
Whatever fruit one desires, he receives; his hopes shall not go in vain. ||1||Pause||
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ॥
That Saint, unto whom the Lord of Life, the Great Giver, extends His Mercy - he alone sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਣਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ ॥
His soul is absorbed in loving devotional worship; his mind is pleasing to the Supreme Lord God. ||2||
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਰਵਣਾ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਲਾਥੀ ॥ ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, he chants the Praises of the Lord, and the bitter poison does not affect him.
ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਭਏ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩॥ ॥
My Creator Lord has united me with Himself, and the Holy Saints have become my companions. ||3||
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
Taking me by the hand, He has given me everything, and blended me with Himself.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਥੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੭੯॥ ॥
Says Nanak, everything has been perfectly resolved; I have found the Perfect True Guru. ||4||15||79||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
ਗਰੀਬੀ ਗਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
Humility is my spiked club.
ਖੰਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨੁ ਛਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
My dagger is to be the dust of all men's feet.
ਇਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕੋ ਨ ਟਿਕੈ ਵੇਕਾਰੀ ॥ ॥
No evil-doer can withstand these weapons.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਏਹ ਗਲ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ॥
The Perfect Guru has given me this understanding. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਓਟਾ ॥ ॥
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the support and shelter of the Saints.
ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੋਟਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
One who remembers the Lord in meditation, is emancipated; millions have been saved in this way. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
In the Society of the Saints, I sing His Praises.
ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
I have found this, the perfect wealth of the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
Says Nanak, I have eradicated my self-conceit.
ਸਭੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੮੦॥ ॥
I see the Supreme Lord God everywhere. ||2||16||80||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ॥
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehla:
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਨੀ ॥ ॥
The Perfect Guru has done it perfectly.
ਬਖਸ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ॥ ॥
He blessed me with forgiveness.
ਨਿਤ ਅਨੰਦ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ॥
I have found lasting peace and bliss.
ਥਾਵ ਸਗਲੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ॥
Everywhere, the people dwell in peace. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਫਲ ਦਾਤੀ ॥ ॥
Devotional worship to the Lord is what gives rewards.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥
The Perfect Guru, by His Grace, gave it to me; how rare are those who know this. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਹ ਭਾਈ ॥ ॥
Sing the Word of the Guru's Bani, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਓਹ ਸਫਲ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ॥
That is always rewarding and peace-giving.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ॥
Nanak has meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੮੧॥ ॥
He has realized his pre-ordained destiny. ||2||17||81||
