ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥ ॥

जीवन दान देकर, संतुष्ट होकर, सच्चे नाम में समा जाओ। हर दिन हरि (ईश्वर) को याद करो, हृदय के भीतर सहज समाधि में लग जाओ।।२।।

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ ॥

सच्चे गुरु के शब्द से यह मन भेद गया, हृदय में सच्ची वाणी है। मेरा प्रभु अलख (अदृश्य) है, गुरुमुख द्वारा ही उसकी अकथ कथा सुनी जा सकती है।

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ॥

आप ही दया करते हैं, सुखदाता हैं, सारंगपाणी (ईश्वर का नाम) का जाप करो।।३।।

ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥ ॥

आना-जाना फिर नहीं होगा, गुरुमुख होकर सहज ध्यान किया है। मन से ही मन मिला, स्वामी, मन ही मन में समा गया है।

ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ ॥

सच्चे में ही सत्य सत्य में लीन हो गया, अपने को भूल गया।।४।।

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ ॥

एक ही एक वास करता है मन में स्वामी, दूसरा कोई नहीं। एक ही नाम अमृत है मीठा, संसार में निर्मल सत्य वही है।

ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ ॥

नानक, प्रभु का नाम उसी को प्राप्त होता है, जिसके लिए पूर्व नियत लिखा गया है।।५।।४।।

ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੪॥ ॥

मलार महला ३ ॥

ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ॥

गण, गंधर्व सब नाम से उद्धार हुए, गुरु का शब्द विचार करो।

ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਜਗਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥

अहंकार मारकर, सदैव मन में वास किया, हरि ने हृदय में धारण किया।

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੪॥ ॥

जिसे समझाया, वही समझता है, जिसे आपने मिलाया है।

ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ ॥

हर दिन वाणी शब्द गाता है, सत्य में प्रेम लगाकर रहता है।।१।।

ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਭਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ ॥

हे मेरे मन, क्षण-क्षण नाम को संभाल।

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਦ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ ॥

गुरु की दाता शब्द का सुख हृदय में सदैव बना रहे तेरे साथ।।१।। रहाउ।।

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ ॥

मनमुख पाखंड कभी नहीं छूटता, दूसरे भाव से दुःख पाता है।

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਗਾਂਵੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ॥

नाम भूलकर, विषयों में मन लगाकर, व्यर्थ जीवन गँवाता है।

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਲਿ ॥ ॥

यह समय फिर हाथ में नहीं आएगा, हर दिन पछताता रहेगा।

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

मर-मर जन्म लेता है, कभी नहीं समझता, विष्टा (गंदगी) में ही समा...

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੂਕੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ ॥

The self-willed manmukhs never give up their hypocrisy; in the love of duality, they suffer in pain.

ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥ ॥

Forgetting the Naam, their minds are imbued with corruption. They waste away their lives uselessly.

ਇਹ ਵੇਲਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ॥ ॥

This opportunity shall not come into their hands again; night and day, they shall always regret and repent.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੨॥ ॥

They die and die again and again, only to be reborn, but they never understand. They rot away in manure. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ ॥

The Gurmukhs are imbued with the Naam, and are saved; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ ॥

Meditating on the Name of the Lord, they are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive. They enshrine the Lord within their hearts.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ ॥

Their minds and bodies are immaculate, their intellect is immaculate and sublime. Their speech is sublime as well.

ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥ ॥

They realize the One Primal Being, the One Lord God. There is no other at all. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ ॥

God Himself is the Doer, and He Himself is the Cause of causes. He Himself bestows His Glance of Grace.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਮੇਇ ॥ ॥

My mind and body are imbued with the Word of the Guru's Bani. My consciousness is immersed in His service.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਲਖਾਇ ॥ ॥

The Unseen and Inscrutable Lord dwells deep within. He is seen only by the Gurmukh.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥ ॥

O Nanak, He gives to whomever He pleases. According to the Pleasure of His Will, He leads the mortals on. ||4||5||

ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ ॥ ॥

Malaar, Third Mehla, Dho-Thukay:

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ ॥

Through the True Guru, the mortal obtains the special place, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence in his own home.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ॥

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, his egotistical pride is dispelled. ||1||

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ॥

Those who have the Naam inscribed on their foreheads,

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ॥

meditate on the Naam night and day, forever and ever. They are honored in the True Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ ॥

From the True Guru, they learn the ways and means of the mind. Night and day, they focus their meditation on the Lord forever.
