ਤਹਾਂ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
All brave warriors were slain with great skill.
ਬਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੦॥
The surviving soldiers fled, saving their lives.
ਤਹਾਂ ਸਾਹ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਕੀਨੇ ਅਖਾਰੇ ॥
There, Shah engaged in combat within the arena.
ਘਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਮੋ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਲਤਾਰੇ ॥
Many bloody Khans were trampled in the vast field.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪੰ ਗੋਪਲਾਯੰ ਖਰੋ ਖੇਤ ਗਾਜੈ ॥
The king Gopal roared fiercely in the field.
ਮ੍ਰਿਗਾ ਝੁੰਡ ਮੱਧਿਯੰ ਮਨੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜੈ ॥੧੧॥
Like a lion amidst a herd of deer.11.
ਤਹਾਂ ਏਕ ਬੀਰੰ ਹਰੀ ਚੰਦ ਕੋਪ੍ਯੋ ॥
There, one warrior, Hari Chand, became enraged.
ਭਲੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਸੋ ਖੇਤ ਮੋ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪ੍ਯੋ ॥
He skillfully took his stance in the field.
ਮਹਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਤੀਰ ਤੀਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
With great anger, he shot sharp arrows.
ਲਗੈ ਜੌਨ ਕੇ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਾਰੈ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੨॥
Whoever was struck by them, departed to the next world.12.

He overwhelmed great armies.13.

He was absorbed in the dreadful clash of arms.

Armed warriors were slain.
ਲਿਟੇ ਭੂਪ ਭਾਰੀ ॥੧੪॥
Great kings lay fallen.14.
ਤਬੈ ਜੀਤਮੱਲੰ ॥

Then Jit Mal struck Hari Chand in the heart.
ਲਗੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
And felled him on the battlefield.15.
ਰਿਸਿਯੋ ਤੇਜਿ ਮਾਣੰ ॥
The warriors struck by arrows became red with blood.
ਸਮੁਹ ਬਾਜ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
Their horses fell.
ਸੁਵਰਗੰ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੬॥
They departed to the heavens.16.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਖੁਲੈ ਖਾਨ ਖੂਨੀ ਖੁਰਾਸਾਨ ਖੱਗੰ ॥

ਪਰੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੰ ਉਠੀ ਝਾਲ ਅੱਗੰ ॥
The blood-thirsty Khans held Khorasan swords.
ਭਈ ਤੀਰ ਭੀਰੰ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਕੱੜਕੇ ॥
Weapons were raised, and flames of fire arose.
ਗਿਰੇ ਬਾਜ ਤਾਜੀ ਲਗੇ ਧੀਰ ਧੱਕੇ ॥੧੭॥
Arrows flew thick and fast from the bows.
ਬਜੀ ਭੇਰਿ ਭੁੰਕਾਰ ਧੁੱਕੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
The horses fell, and the brave were struck down.17.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਬਕਾਰੇ ॥

ਕਰੇ ਬਾਹੁ ਆਘਾਤ ਸਸਤ੍ਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥
The drums beat with a resounding sound.
ਡਕੀ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਚਾਂਵਡੀ ਚੀਤਕਾਰੰ ॥੧੮॥
Brave warriors roared from both sides.

Arms struck blows, weapons were hurled.
ਕਹਾ ਲਗੇ ਬਰਨਨ ਕਰੋਂ ਮਚਿਯੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
The Dakini witches drank blood with terrifying cries.18.
ਜੇ ਲੱੁਝੇ ਜੁੱਝੇ ਸਬੈ ਭੱਜੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਜਾਰ ॥੧੯॥

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਬੀਰੀਯਾ ਤੀਰੀਯਾ ਨ ਚਲਾਯੰ ॥
All who fought attained martyrdom; thousands of heroes fled. 19.
ਜਸੋ ਡੱਢਵਾਲੰ ਮਧੁੱਕਰ ਸੁ ਸਾਹੰ ॥

ਭਜੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੁ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੰ ॥੨੦॥

The chiefs of Jaswal and Dadhwal, along with their armies.
ਗਿਰਿਓ ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਸੋ ਸੂਰ ਜੁੱਝਿਯੰ ॥੨੧॥
