ਸਤਿਜੁਗ ਕੇ ਜੁਗ ਮੈ ਹਮੋ ਯਾ ਮੈ ਕਿਯੋ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥

In Sat Yug, I resided in this world.

ਅਬ ਬਰਤਤ ਜੁਗ ਕੌਨ ਸੋ ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਹਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ॥੨੪॥

Now tell me, in which Yug are we? Please enlighten me. ||24||

ਚੌਪਈ ॥

Chaupai

ਸਤਿਜੁਗ ਬੀਤੇ ਤ੍ਰੇਤਾ ਭਯੋ ॥

Sat Yug passed, Treta Yug came.

ਤਾ ਪਾਛੇ ਦ੍ਵਾਪਰ ਬਰਤਯੋ ॥

After that, Dwapar Yug prevailed.

ਤਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਨੁ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਅਬ ਆਯੋ ॥

Then, listen, Kal Yug has now arrived.

ਸੁ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਹ ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥੨੫॥

This I have revealed and made known to you. ||25||

ਕਲਜੁਗ ਨਾਮ ਜਬੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਯੋ ॥

When Kal Yug's name was heard,

ਹਾਹਾ ਸਬਦ ਉਚਾਰਤ ਭਯੋ ॥

A sound of 'Ha! Ha!' arose.

ਤਿਹਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਬਾਤ ਲਗਨ ਨਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ॥

Do not allow me to be distracted by that matter,

ਬਹੁਰੋ ਮੂੰਦਿ ਦੁਆਰਨ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੨੬॥

And close the doors again. ||26||

ਰਾਨੀ ਬਾਚ ॥

Rani's speech

ਮੈ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਿਹੋ ॥

O Lord, I will serve you.

ਏਕ ਪਾਇ ਠਾਢੀ ਜਲ ਭਰਿਹੋ ॥

Standing on one leg, I will fetch water.

ਮੂੰਦਿਨ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਕ੍ਯੋਨ ਲੀਜੈ ॥

Why should the doors be closed?

ਹਮ ਪਰ ਨਾਥ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨੭॥

O Lord, bestow your grace upon me. ||27||

ਪੁਨਿ ਰਾਜੈ ਯੌ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥

Then the King spoke these words:

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੈ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ॥

Have mercy, I am your servant.

ਯਹ ਰਾਨੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਹ ਲੀਜੈ ॥

Accept this service from the Rani,

ਮੋ ਪਰ ਨਾਥ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੨੮॥

O Lord, bestow your grace upon me. ||28||

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

Dohra

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਹ ਰਾਨੀ ਦਈ ਯੌ ਰਾਜੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥

The Rani agreed to serve, and the King found peace.

ਦ੍ਵਾਰਨ ਮੂੰਦਿਨ ਨ ਦਯੋ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਚਰਨ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥੨੯॥

The doors were not closed, she remained clinging to his feet. ||29||

ਮੂੜ ਰਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਿਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਕਿਯੋ ਨ ਛਲ ਕਛੁ ਪਾਇ ॥

The foolish King rejoiced, unable to find any deception.

ਸੇਵਾ ਕੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਦਈ ਤਾਹਿ ਸਿਧ ਠਹਰਾਇ ॥੩੦॥

The Rani agreed to serve, establishing her as accomplished. ||30||

ਰਾਜ ਮਾਰਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਛਲਿਯੋ ਰਤਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਸੋ ਕੀਨ ॥

The King killed the minister, and the King was deceived by lust.

ਅਤਭੁਤ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਨ ਕੌ ਸਕਤ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਚੀਨ ॥੩੧॥

The wonderful deeds of women cannot be understood by anyone. ||31||

ਬੀਕਾਨੇਰ ਰਾਵ ਇਕ ਭਾਰੋ ॥

There was a great King in Bikaner.

ਤੀਨ ਭਵਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਉਜਿਯਾਰੋ ॥

His three palaces were illuminated within.

ਵਤੀ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਰਾਵ ਕੀ ਰਾਨੀ ॥

The Rani of the King was adorned.

ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਭਵਨ ਚੌਦਹੂੰ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੧॥

She was known as beautiful in all fourteen realms. ||1||

ਅੜਿਲ ॥

Aril

ਤਹਾ ਰਾਇ ਮਹਤਾਬ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਆਇਯੋ ॥

There, a merchant named Mahatab Singh arrived.

ਲਖਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਹਿਯੋ ਲਲਚਾਇਯੋ ॥

Seeing the Rani's beauty, his heart was filled with desire.

ਭੇਜਿ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਲਯੋ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਕੈ ॥

Sending a female companion, he called her to his home.

ਹੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਨਤ ਰਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੨॥

She fulfilled his desires and found great pleasure. ||2||

ਚੌਪਈ ॥

Chaupai

ਨਿਤਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ॥

Every day, the Rani called him.

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥

She experienced pleasures of various kinds.

ਜਾਨਤ ਰੈਨਿ ਅੰਤ ਜਬ ਆਈ ॥

Knowing the end of the night had come,

ਤਾਹਿ ਦੇਤ ਨਿਜੁ ਧਾਮ ਪਠਾਈ ॥੩॥

She sent him to his own home. ||3||

ਅੜਿਲ ॥

Aril

ਚੁਨਿ ਚੁਨਿ ਭਲੀ ਮਤਾਹ ਸੁਦਾਗਰ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਈ ॥

Selecting the best merchant, he brought him.

ਰਾਨੀ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਪਾਇ ਘਨੋ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਈ ॥

The Rani, finding him, experienced great joy.

ਅਤਿ ਧਨ ਛੋਰਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦੇਤ ਤਹਿ ਨਿਤ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥

Spending much wealth from the treasury, she gave it to him daily.
