ਡਿਮਿ ਡਿਮਿ ਡਿਮਿ ਡਾਮਰੂ ਡਮਕਹਿਾਂ ॥

Dim dim dim damaru resonating,

ਅਸਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਹਾਥਨ ਮਹਿੰ ਦਮਕਹਿਾਂ ॥

Numerous swords shining in hands,

ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਮਰੇ ਬਿਕਟ ਭਟ ਰਨ ਮੈ ॥

Cutting and killing fierce warriors in battle,

ਰਿਝਿ ਰਿਝਿ ਬਰੈ ਬਰੰਗਨਨ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥੧੮॥

Delighting the hearts of queens and kings. ||18||

ਲਹ ਲਹ ਕੋਟਿ ਧੁਜਾ ਫਹਰਾਵੈ ॥

Millions of flags fluttered and waved,

ਸੂਰਜ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਜਾਵੈ ॥

The sun and moon could not be seen,

ਕਹਕ ਕਹਕ ਤਹ ਕਰੈ ਮਸਾਨਾ ॥

The cremation grounds echoed with cries,

ਨਾਚੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਜੁਝਊਆ ਜ੍ਵਾਨਾ ॥੧੯॥

Young warriors danced and played. ||19||

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

Dohira ||

ਪਰਸ ਪਾਸ ਅਸਿ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਭੇ ਬਰਿਸੇ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਬਿਸੇਖ ॥

Swords and Vajras rained down like arrows,

ਘਾਯਲ ਸਭੁ ਸੂਰਾ ਭਏ ਜੂਝਤ ਭਏ ਅਸੇਖ ॥੨੦॥

All the warriors were wounded and fell. ||20||

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥

Bhujang Chhand ||

ਮਹਾ ਜੁਧ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਸਭੈ ਦੇਵ ਹਾਰੇ ॥

After a great battle, all the gods were defeated,

ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥

But because his wife was virtuous, he could not be killed.

ਗਏ ਜੂਝ ਜੋਧਾ ਮਹਾ ਐਠਿਯਾਰੇ ॥

The mighty warriors fell fighting,

ਰਹੇ ਤੇ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਐ ਕੈ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥੨੧॥

They remained, and were summoned from all four directions. ||21||

ਕਹਾ ਜਾਤ ਦੇਵੇਸ ਜਾਨੇ ਨ ਦੈ ਹੈ ॥

The gods said, 'We cannot defeat him,'

ਇਸੀ ਛੇਤ੍ਰ ਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਤੋਹਿ ਲੈ ਹੈ ॥

'We will kill you in this very battlefield.'

ਮੰਡੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨਾਨ ਬਾਜਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥

The warriors prepared, taking up bows and arrows,

ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੀ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਓਪ ਦੈ ਕੈ ॥੨੨॥

Infusing their minds with great anger. ||22||

ਤਬੈ ਬਿਸਨ ਜੂ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਐਸੇ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

Then Vishnu pondered a strategy,

ਸਭੈ ਦਾਨਵਾਨੇਸ ਕੋ ਭੇਸ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

And assumed the guise of the demon king,

ਜਿਸੀ ਬਾਗ ਮੈ ਨਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥

In which garden the group of women resided,

ਲਖੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੋ ਦਰਪੁ ਭਾਜੈ ॥੨੩॥

Seeing whom, Cupid's pride would flee. ||23||

ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

Dohira ||

ਜਾਲੰਧਰ ਕੇ ਭੇਸ ਧਰਿ ਤਹਾ ਪਹੂੰਚ੍ਯੋ ਜਾਇ ॥

Assuming Jalandhar's form, he went there,

ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਪਛਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਰੀਝਤ ਭਈ ਸੁ ਭਾਇ ॥੨੪॥

Recognizing her husband's form, she was delighted. ||24||

ਚੌਪਈ ॥

Chaupaee ||

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਬਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

He sported with her in various ways,

ਸਭ ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਕੋ ਦਰਪੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

And extinguished all of Cupid's pride.

ਉਤੈ ਜੁਧ ਜੋ ਭਯੋ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥

I will tell you about the battle that took place there,

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਸਿਰਾਊ ॥੨੫॥

Which will soothe your heart. ||25||

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥

Bhujang Chhand ||

ਉਤੈ ਦੈਤ ਬਾਕੈ ਇਤੈ ਦੇਵ ਆਛੇ ॥

There the demons, here the gods stood,

ਲਏ ਸੂਲ ਸੈਥੀ ਸਭੈ ਕਾਛ ਕਾਛੇ ॥

Holding spears and swords, all prepared,

ਮਹਾ ਨਾਦ ਮਾਰੂ ਤਿਸੀ ਖੇਤ ਬਾਜੇ ॥

A great war cry resounded in that battlefield,

ਦਿਤ੍ਰਯਾਦਿਤ ਗਾੜੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਗਾਜੇ ॥੨੬॥

The children of both Diti and Aditi thundered on both sides. ||26||

ਮਹਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਜੂਝੇ ॥

In great anger, some warriors fought,

ਪਰੇ ਭਾਤਿ ਐਸੀ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਬੂਝੇ ॥

The scene was such that it could not be understood.

ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਜੀ ਜਿਰਹ ਬੀਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

Some kings fought fiercely, wearing armour,

ਕਹੂੰ ਤੇਗ ਔ ਤੀਰ ਕਾਤੀ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥੨੭॥

Some wielded swords, arrows, knives, and daggers. ||27||

ਕਹੂੰ ਟੋਪ ਟੂਟੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਗ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

Some helmets broke, some great battles raged,

ਕਹੂੰ ਜ੍ਵਾਨ ਜੇਬੇ ਸੁ ਕਾਤੀ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥

Some young men wielded knives and daggers,

ਕਹੂੰ ਸੂਲ ਸੈਥੀ ਗਿਰੀ ਭੂਮਿ ਐਸੀ ॥

Some spears and swords fell to the ground,

ਦਿਪੈ ਚਾਰ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਹਾ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਜੈਸੀ ॥੨੮॥

It appeared like a great blazing fire. ||28||

ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਥਮੈ ਸਤ ਟਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

First, Brinda was removed.
